MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Bishop Guertin boys hockey team captured its eighth state championship in program history on Saturday, March 14, defeating Concord, 1-0, in overtime at SNHU Arena.Senior Jordan O’Hearn delivered the title-clinching moment with a shot from just inside the blue line that deflected off a Concord defenseman’s stick. The change in trajectory caused the Tide goaltender to misread the angle, and the puck slipped under his stick and into the back of the net. The goal broke the scoreless tie and sparked a frenzied celebration in front of the BG student section. For the Cardinals, the victory served as a measure of redemption against Concord, which defeated Bishop Guertin in last year’s state championship game between the same two teams. Unlike last year’s marathon contest — when Concord needed a fourth overtime period to secure the win — Saturday’s championship was decided earlier in the extra session, with O’Hearn’s game-winner coming at 6:31 of the fourth period.Sophomor
